Standardization & Evaluation Specialist 3 (Pilot)

Job Description

Establishes enterprise certification requirements and operational standards. Conducts or reviews evaluations and identifies gaps in training curriculum/delivery and makes recommendations. Reviews training courseware/objectives, verifies technical accuracy and monitors against enterprise standards. Performs and/or reviews operational assessments, identifies operational deficiencies and takes corrective action. Evaluates industry changes, assesses impact to enterprise operations and incorporates regulatory requirements into standards. Assesses product/services development activities and determines future standardization requirements. Reviews operational events, maintenance actions, accident investigation reports and identifies adverse trends. Monitors compliance and develops/implements system-wide preventive actions. Evaluates system failures and operational events and makes inspection and component replacement interval recommendations. Performs technical review of product development and sustainment projects. Provides technical support and resolves operational events. Assists with mishap analysis and coordinates with functional organizations and other stakeholders to advance operational consistency.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Supports the initiatives of the Standardization and Evaluation UAS Pilot Operations Lead and/or Chief Pilot.

  • Conducts evaluations and identifies gaps in training curriculum and delivery.
  • Reviews training courseware and verifies technical accuracy.
  • Tracks and monitors certifications/currency requirements.
  • Performs operational assessments, identifies operational deficiencies and recommends corrective action.
  • Reviews and/or develops content for technical publications, bulletins/ advisories, software releases and controlled policies and procedures.
  • Reviews system logbooks, maintenance actions, accident investigation reports and identifies unreliable practices.
  • Develops process improvements, takes corrective action and revises standards.
  • Performs technical review of product development and sustainment activities.
  • Provides technical support and resolves operational events.
  • Assists with mishap analysis and coordinates with functional organizations and other stakeholders to advance operational consistency.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required:

  • Current ScanEagle or Integrator UAS Pilot.
  • Prior experience in a forward-deployed aviation/airspace operating environment.
  • Ability to obtain Secret clearance.
  • High level of organizational, aircrew resource and management skills.
  • Excellent skill with use of MS Office software products
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with people at various levels.
  • Prior leadership experience.
  • Understanding of the principles of personnel support.
  • Willingness to travel periodically, sometimes with short notice and/or to austere environments.
  • This position will be based in the offices at Insitu headquarters in Bingen, Washington.

Desired:

  • Current ScanEagle or Integrator Instructor and Designated Examiner highly desired.
  • Prior military aviator (Pilot, NAV, NFO, RIO, UAV, Flight Engineer) or civil aviator (Pilot, Co-Pilot, Flight Engineer).
  • FAA private pilot certification highly desired.
  • FAA commercial pilot, A&P and/or IA certifications.
  • Understanding of Human Factors in a dynamic aviation operating environment.
  • Current Secret clearance.
  • Military STAN/EVAL or equivalent experience highly desired.
  • Exposure to a Quality Management System, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, or other similar disciplines.
  • Experience delivering systems training.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to pass an FAA class II medical certification.
  • Ability to pass rigorous Medical / Dental / Psychological pre-deployment screening per customer requirements.
  • Ability to lift and carry 80 lbs unassisted for short distances.
  • Ability to work in small, cramped spaces.
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders and ramps while carrying up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to bend and/or twist legs, arms and body within normal range of motion.
  • Ability to stand and walk without rest for at least two hours.
  • Ability to perform required job duties outdoors in conditions that may include extreme high and low temperatures, rain, snow, and high winds.

Typical Education and Experience:

6-9 years related experience with a Bachelor's degree or 4-7 years related experience with a Master's degree.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
